Sara Rothenberger

Assistant Dean for Residential Education and Living

Sara began her career in higher education in 1998 worked at several small colleges before coming to Connecticut College in 2012. She came to Connecticut College because she believes in its mission and values — most specifically its focus on equity and inclusion. Sara is responsible for overseeing the department and directly supervises the professional staff team. Sara has her bachelor's in psychology from Westminster College, a master's in counseling psychology from the University of Minnesota, and a doctorate in human development with an emphasis in higher education administration. She lives on campus with her partner Jared and their dog Laynie.

Lil Carrasquillo-Vasquez

Associate Director of Residential Education and Living

Lil received her bachelor's degree in Sociology with a focus in education from Simmons University in 2008.  She has been working in Residence Life ever since and obtained her master's degree from Wesleyan University while working there.  Lil was drawn to Connecticut College's focus on shared governance, equity and justice as they align with her personal educational philosophy and believes.  Having grown up in southeastern CT, Lil is excited to be back in the area she calls home.  She loves to crochet, read, and spend time in community. She lives on campus with her family.

Caitlin Kay obtained her bachelor's degree in history with a focus in LGBT history in 2012 at Rhode Island College, where she was a resident assistant. In 2014 she earned her master's degree in higher education from Walden University and worked at the New Hampshire Institute of Art as a resident director. She currently attends Walden University working towards her Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership. In her time off, she loves to play with her cat Toulouse as well as making cosplay and work on jigsaw puzzles!

Kayla received her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies/Elementary Education and a minor in Sociology from Sonoma State University, where she worked for three years in residential life. She also earned her master’s degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut, where she worked in Leadership & Org Development and taught a First Year Experience course. Kayla oversees South Campus, the Village, and also works with CC Curtiss in the Office of Wellbeing and Health Promotion. In her down time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Beau
